If you have a safety meeting or perform an inspection and you can’t find any documentation of it, did it ever really happen? Well, sure it did, but it definitely helps to keep proper records for things as important as safety for reference later on or to prove to a government agency like OSHA that your company is being proactive. One way to keep proper records is to use an app, and Safesite has just made that easier as they now offer a free version of their inspection platform.
Although all of the features that Safesite offers will not be available on the free version, it offers plenty of useful tools on an easy to use platform. The free version includes:
Ability to conduct inspections and audits on the go
Pre-loaded and customizable safety meeting agendas
Safety observation logs
Real-time incident reporting
Support for both English and Spanish
Access to Support, Training Library, and Webinars
A couple missing features that may require you to need to upgrade is the lack of the OSHA 300 recordable incident log on the app and the fact that you can only export data analytics, incident reports, and other safety reports within the last 30 days, among other additional items. Pricing for the premium plan, with many additional features, starts at $16/user/month.
When conducting an inspection or logging an incident, the app makes it easy to add text observations, pictures, and location. That’s much more efficient than using paper forms to conduct an inspection, taking pictures, then going back to your computer to type p the report, downloading the pictures, formatting everything, and printing off the completed report.
Although there are dozens of inspection forms and meeting templates loaded onto Safesite already, you have the ability to edit any of the pre-loaded forms or create your own. To edit existing forms, you need to visit the Safesite website, but to upload one of your company’s customized report, youll need to email Safesite and have them convert it to the app for you.
Here’s a quick overview of the app if you want to get an idea of how it works.
Last summer, Hilti announced that they had developed their first exoskeleton designed for construction tradespeople in a partnership with Ottobuck, a prosthetics, orthotics, and exoskeleton provider. Earlier this month, Hilti officially released the exoskeleton, announced more details, and published its retail price on their website.
