KEEN Utility work boots burst onto the construction scene in 2009, about 4 years after the company was founded. Since then, they’ve brought their signature style and technology to a wide range of boot types to cover all types of work.
At the World of Concrete 2020, KEEN Utility announced several new work boot styles, each offering a different look, but also form and function for feet of different needs. No boot is one size fits all, so you need to match the type of boot with the work that you do. Interior remodeling work requires a much different boot than exterior site grading work, for example.
Below you’ll find our video from the Keen Utility booth at the World of Concrete. More information about 3 new boot styles from KEEN, including the Cincinnati, the Portland, and the Flint II, can be found below the video.
Cincinnati 6” Waterproof Boot
The 6” Cincinnati may remind you of a much more rugged version of the very popular San Jose boot. It features KEEN.DRY technology for waterproofing, a barnyard proof leather which protects against harmful chemicals that reduce boot life, and KEEN Luftcell, which reduces the weight of the midsole, but offers additional comfort.
For additional durability and protection, the Cincinnati is built with Goodyear welt construction, is oil and slip resistant, and is sold in both carbon fiber and soft toe, as well as regular and wide widths. For electricians, the boot is also EH rated.
Portland 6” Waterproof Boot
The American Built Portland is assembled in Keen’s Portland, Oregon factory and features KEEN.BELOOWS FLEX technology, which is a more easily bendable material towards the toe of the boot, to reduce resistance when bending for below-the-knees work.
Like the Cincinnati above, it also features KEEN.DRY for waterproofing, KEEN Luftcell midsoles, and EH rating, and oil and slip resistant outsoles. This boot is only currently available with a carbon fiber safety toe, but is available in both regular and wide widths.
Flint II Waterproof
As the name might suggest, the Flint II is a redesign of the original Flint. The biggest change in the Flint style is the addition of KEEN.ReGEN, which is a cushioning midsole that provides extreme comfort and 50% more energy return compared to a midsole made of EVA foam.
This lightweight boot comes in many forms, including both men’s and women’s in steel toe or soft toe. The men’s version is also available in a 3” or a 5” height. Additional features include KEEN.dry waterproofing, EH rating, and oil and slip resistance.
