Rowlett, Texas was hit hard by a tornado in 2015 and the city is still dealing with the effects of it.  In the horrible storm, 13 people were killed and over 400 buildings were damaged or destroyed, according to CBS DFW. In a story we covered last year, one Rowlett woman also had her house mistakenly knocked down by a demolition company when addresses got mixed up after the tornado.

One of the 400 structures damaged by the storm was the Martha Lane Water Tower, which stood 160 feet tall since 1980. Now 14 months after the storm, it was finally time for the tower to be demolished.  Much like this 2015 Plano, TX water tower demolition, one side of the water tower was weakened before it toppled over and fell to the ground.  As the Martha Lane fell, its legs appeared to move with it, making it look eerily similar to an Imperial Walker from the Star Wars series.  Unlike this other water tower demolition video that we shared in 2016 which caused a crane to flip over, the water was fully drained before the demolition.
