Construction Junkie’s annual Best Construction Podcast Competition is underway for 2019 and the voting booth is officially open.  As part of the contest this year, we will be highlighting one of the contest’s nominees each week. The final podcast in our contest to be highlighted is The Construction Record Podcast.

The Construction Record, the lone Canadian podcast in this year’s competition, focuses on the Great White North’s construction industry news. Powered by ConstructConnect, the show features stories from the Journal of Commerce and Daily Commercial News. Each episode of the bi-weekly podcast usually lands between 20 and 40 minutes.

The Daily Commercial News has been covering construction news in Canada since 1927 and the Journal of Commerce has been covering construction in Western Canada since 1911.  That’s a rich history from which the hosts of the show get to pull from as they deliver each episode.

Hosted by a rotating group of staff and editors, The Construction Record Podcast covers a wide variety of topics each week, giving those interested in the Canadian construction industry a great overview of the happenings in their area.

In their most recent episode, (Episode 58 - Bill 66, Trans Mountain, Exoskeletons and vote for us!), the hosts cover a controversial bill in Ontario affecting contractors, a pipeline construction project facing challenges, and an interview with the Director of Research Innovation for the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Ryan Leskiw, among other news.

If you’re in Canada, The Construction Record does a great job of keeping you up-to-date with all relevant news and the podcast form allows them to extrapolate more on the topics that they write about throughout the week.
